Dear Village Water Department Customer,

As required by the 2021 Lead and Copper Rule Revision (LCRR) issued by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Village Water Department is required to create an inventory of water service line materials in the Village. The service line is the pipe that brings water from the water main into your home. Again, the EPA mandates that municipal water authorities take this inventory of service line

materials.

This will require a member of the village staff to enter your home and perform a visual inspection of your water meter and the water line entering your home to ascertain the material type of the service line pipe. Or, if the homeowner is willing and able, they can take a photograph of the line coming into the house to the water meter and send it via email along with name and address. In person inspections will take place between 9:00am and 4:30pm, Monday through Friday. To schedule an appointment with the village Water Department please call 607-547-5591 or email vocwd@stny.rr.com. If you prefer to use the photograph method, please send CLEAR pictures of the water line entering your home along with name and address to the email address above. The water line usually enters your home through the foundation wall or floor in close proximity to your water meter. The photograph we will need is one of your water line as it enters your home from the wall or floor near the water meter. For any questions on how to locate your water meter or where your service line enters your home, please call the phone

number above.

We appreciate your anticipated cooperation.
