The Village of Cooperstown’s Board of Trustees has approved special event vending for 2016 and we will begin accepting applications on April 8th.
Vending will be permitted, for the National Baseball Hall of Fame Classic weekend, on private property and in Pioneer Park from Friday, May 27th through Monday, May 30th and in Doubleday Field Parking Lot from Friday, May 27th through Saturday, May 28th. Vending during the National Baseball Hall of Fame Induction weekend will be permitted on private property and in Pioneer Park from Friday, July 22nd through Monday, July 25th and in Doubleday Field Parking lot from Friday, July 22nd through Saturday, July 23rd.
The required application may be downloaded below or on the Village Clerk’s page, or may be picked up during regular office hours at the Village Office, 22 Main Street. If you would like to vend during one of our special event weekends please complete the application and return it to the Village of Cooperstown, Attention: Vending, PO Box 346, Cooperstown, NY 13326 on or after April 8th.
Venders looking to vend on public property will be assigned a space, approximately 10’ X 10’, by the Village Clerk’s office. Once vending spaces are assigned an official permit, a site map, and additional details will be provided by mail.
You may want to keep in mind that you will be responsible to provide all necessary items for your vending area including tables, chairs, etc. Tables, other than those used for food must be skirted with a single color skirt. Single color pop-up tents, not larger than 10’ X 10’ are permitted; however vehicles and trailers are not permitted in the vending areas. In addition, you are required to clean up/dismantle and remove all items at the end of each day. The hanging of banners, flags, etc is not permitted as stated in the Village Sign Law. You may hang identifying information along the front of your table and/or with in your tent if you choose.
Please keep in mind that parking can be very difficult in the Village especially during the summer months. If vending in Doubleday Field you may pull in to load/unload your vehicle but may not park in the vending area. All vehicles must be out of the area before 9 AM and may return in the early evening (5 – 6 PM) depending on the activity in the lot to dismantle the displays. Regulated, 2 hour parking will be in place in the business district. Free parking is available in the Trolley lots located on the perimeter of the Village and the trolley will be running from 8:30 AM – 9 PM for a minimal fee. In addition there is also private paid parking throughout the village during special events.
